Hudson Gimenez - Romance Nº 1

My review:       Romance Nº 1   is a piece in three sections, with an accompanied melody texture and a tranquil tempo, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection. The thematic unity and the constant accompaniment of arpeggios give the piece a sense of cohesion, with a second development section and a third recapitulation section. In fact, it is constructed from a harmonic progression (accompaniment) upon which small variations on the main theme melody are layered.       Gimenez's social links:           Facebook      YouTube      SoundCloud     Enjoy  "Romance Nº 1" ,  performed by Carlos Marín Trigo:

Iрина Степанова-Боровская - Предчувствие весны / Irina Stepanova-Borovskaya - Premonition of Spring

  My review:

Premonition of Spring by Irina Stepanova-Borovskaya, is a beautiful ragtime piece with a three-part form and several tempo changes that make it truly interesting.

The main theme in A minor begins with a characteristic bass line, moving from the tonic to the dominant, with the melody in the right hand.

The second section feels like a development, starting with a lively tempo, where the accompaniment consists of slashed chords under a melody in the right hand. A brief transition to a less lively tempo leads us to a completely rhythmic section, in which the right hand plays syncopated chords.
At the end of this section, which is entirely modulating, a fermata brings us back to the main theme in a third section that serves as a recapitulation, albeit magnified and triumphant, ending with a coda in A major.
