Hudson Gimenez - Romance Nº 1

My review:       Romance Nº 1   is a piece in three sections, with an accompanied melody texture and a tranquil tempo, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection. The thematic unity and the constant accompaniment of arpeggios give the piece a sense of cohesion, with a second development section and a third recapitulation section. In fact, it is constructed from a harmonic progression (accompaniment) upon which small variations on the main theme melody are layered.       Gimenez's social links:           Facebook      YouTube      SoundCloud     Enjoy  "Romance Nº 1" ,  performed by Carlos Marín Trigo:

Donna Mitchell - Tango por la Milonga

 My personal review:

Tango por la Milonga, by Donna Mitchell, is a three-section piece, with the melody in the right hand, while the characteristic syncopated rhythmic accompaniment is in the left.
With a moderate tempo, it can be divided into three sections.
A first section, divided into two subsections, presents the main theme.
The second section, far from being a contrast, feels like a development of the first, considering that it is considerably longer in comparison. Although it is also divided into two subsections, it is "repeated" with some variation, as the second subsection, when repeated, shifts the texture from melody to chords.
The third section is a restatement of the first, leading us to a coda that begins with a syncopated chord pattern, followed by a chromatic scale in contrary motion in both hands and the final cadence.
