Hudson Gimenez - Romance Nº 1

My review:       Romance Nº 1   is a piece in three sections, with an accompanied melody texture and a tranquil tempo, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection. The thematic unity and the constant accompaniment of arpeggios give the piece a sense of cohesion, with a second development section and a third recapitulation section. In fact, it is constructed from a harmonic progression (accompaniment) upon which small variations on the main theme melody are layered.       Gimenez's social links:           Facebook      YouTube      SoundCloud     Enjoy  "Romance Nº 1" ,  performed by Carlos Marín Trigo:

Donna Mitchell - Song for Sakura

  My personal review:

Song for Sakura (Cherry Blossom) is a piece in three sections, the second rhythmic, while the other two are melodic.
In the case of the melodic sections, they consist of a melody accompanied first by chords (and empty intervals of perfect fifths) and then by arpeggiated notes. The melody is built on a pentacle scale, which gives it the oriental atmosphere suggested by the title.
The second section, more rhythmic in character, as noted above, consists of a melody doubled in perfect fourth intervals, in staccatti, on a double pentacle scale.
The left hand plays pedal notes.
The third section, a restatement of the first, leads to a short coda that concludes the piece.
