  My review:       Romance Nº 1   is a piece in three sections, with an accompanied melody texture and a tranquil tempo, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection. The thematic unity and the constant accompaniment of arpeggios give the piece a sense of cohesion, with a second development section and a third recapitulation section. Ivanov Basso - Friendship

 My personal opinion:

    Friendship is a piano piece in three sections and a coda.

    After a brief introduction, the first section, consisting of two themes repeated with slight variations, creates a mysterious, introspective, and reflective atmosphere. It has a calm character and its texture is that of an accompanied melody, which, in fact, persists throughout the piece.
The second section, which appears suddenly, is a stark contrast to the first. While the tempo is maintained, the rhythm and beat change, making the section feel faster. It is striking that, despite the fact that virtually all the musical material used in this section is new, it nonetheless feels like a development (and not a thematic exposition), to which the constant use of harmonic progressions contributes.
The third section is a restatement of the first theme of the first section, followed by a sudden coda.
A noteworthy aesthetic device Basso employs is the fact that each time he repeats a theme, he does so with some slight variation. Also worth mentioning is the use of ritardandi throughout the piece.
