  My review:       Romance Nº 1   is a piece in three sections, with an accompanied melody texture and a tranquil tempo, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection. The thematic unity and the constant accompaniment of arpeggios give the piece a sense of cohesion, with a second development section and a third recapitulation section. Vitalij Neugasimov - Ballad for Lucinda

  My personal review:

  Ballad for Lucinda is a piece in three sections, at a moderate tempo, creating a gentle and calm atmosphere.
    The first and third sections are similar, with a sparse melody and accompaniment consisting primarily of flat chords and harmonic fifth intervals.
    The second section, although a variation on the first, is contrasting in that the melody is more ornate and the accompaniment consists of triad-like arpeggios.
    The use of modal scales (E Dorian, E Phrygian, and E Aeolian) gives the music a medieval, exotic atmosphere, which adds interest.
