Hudson Gimenez - Romance Nº 1

My review:       Romance Nº 1   is a piece in three sections, with an accompanied melody texture and a tranquil tempo, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection. The thematic unity and the constant accompaniment of arpeggios give the piece a sense of cohesion, with a second development section and a third recapitulation section. In fact, it is constructed from a harmonic progression (accompaniment) upon which small variations on the main theme melody are layered.       Gimenez's social links:           Facebook      YouTube      SoundCloud     Enjoy  "Romance Nº 1" ,  performed by Carlos Marín Trigo:

Ірина Степанова-Боровская / Irina Stepanova-Borovskaya - Прелюдия No 8. Весна / Prelude 8. Spring

 My review:

Prelude 8. Spring by Irina Stepanova-Borovskaya is a piece in three sections and a lively tempo.
After a brief two-bar introduction with a succession of clusters, the first theme begins in C major, although, through a chromatic modulation, taking advantage of a harmonic progression, it moves to the key of D-flat major, which will be maintained throughout the first section and part of the second.
This section (the second) consists of a harmonic progression with a melody in the left hand and a cluster accompaniment in the right. The composer uses this progression to create a new chromatic modulation to return to C major, a key that will be maintained throughout the third section, a restatement of the first.
