Hudson Gimenez - Romance Nº 1

My review:       Romance Nº 1   is a piece in three sections, with an accompanied melody texture and a tranquil tempo, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection. The thematic unity and the constant accompaniment of arpeggios give the piece a sense of cohesion, with a second development section and a third recapitulation section. In fact, it is constructed from a harmonic progression (accompaniment) upon which small variations on the main theme melody are layered.       Gimenez's social links:           Facebook      YouTube      SoundCloud     Enjoy  "Romance Nº 1" ,  performed by Carlos Marín Trigo:

Andrea Vezzoli - Mazurka Seconda (Quatre Mazurke). World Premiere.

   My personal opinion:

The Mazurka is a dance of Polish origin, in 3/4 time, with an accent on the second beat. Although its origin dates back to the 18th century, it spread throughout Europe and was highly appreciated in France in the 19th century and is still a favorite piece for many composers today.
On this occasion, Andrea Vezzoli has chosen a three sections form for this Mazurka, that is, a section A, which is repeated, followed by a section B, also repeated, to conclude with section A.

    Andrea Vezzoli's Biography :
Andrea Vezzoli, at the age of 12 began studying piano with Mara Buzzoni for more than two years, after which she studied clarinet at Corte Franca (BS) where she is still principal clarinetist under the direction of Hercules and Giampietro Lanfranchini Fanchini.
His first compositions, of various styles, such as folk or jazz, are inspired by the landscapes of Franciacorta.
In 2005, he began a detailed study of composition with the composer and pianist Andrea Rosa at the Academia de Pasini Corte Franca (BS).
His versatile style, with references to Stravinsky's early music, descriptiveness and interest rates are the keys to Andrea Vezzoli's popular compositions.
