Hudson Gimenez - Romance Nº 1

My review:       Romance Nº 1   is a piece in three sections, with an accompanied melody texture and a tranquil tempo, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection. The thematic unity and the constant accompaniment of arpeggios give the piece a sense of cohesion, with a second development section and a third recapitulation section. In fact, it is constructed from a harmonic progression (accompaniment) upon which small variations on the main theme melody are layered.       Gimenez's social links:           Facebook      YouTube      SoundCloud     Enjoy  "Romance Nº 1" ,  performed by Carlos Marín Trigo:

Lorenzo Pescini - Come Sabbia tra le Dita

Come Sabbia tra le Dita (Like Sand among your fingers), is one of the most popular works of the Italian composer Lorenzo Pescini.

It begins with a section whose rhymic-melodic structure reminds us of the third movement of the famous Sonata Op. 31, 2 by Ludwig Van Beethoven. It is a succession of arpeggios in sixteenth notes, which unfold between the two hands. Although, the main difference with said sonata is that this piece has a more jovial and cheerful character.

In the second section, which may well have also been inspired by Beethoven's music, the rhythm changes drastically, being in this case a progression of triplets played in the right hand, accompanied by longer notes in the left hand.

Finally, as a coda, there is a small recapitulation of the first section, looking for a final cadence on the C major chord with a fourth added.

Lorenzo Pescini is a Florentine pianist and composer, graduated in piano from the Florence Conservatory. It is estimated that his music has been played more than 4,600,000 times in 180 countries around the world.
