Hudson Gimenez - Romance Nº 1

My review:       Romance Nº 1   is a piece in three sections, with an accompanied melody texture and a tranquil tempo, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection. The thematic unity and the constant accompaniment of arpeggios give the piece a sense of cohesion, with a second development section and a third recapitulation section. In fact, it is constructed from a harmonic progression (accompaniment) upon which small variations on the main theme melody are layered.       Gimenez's social links:           Facebook      YouTube      SoundCloud     Enjoy  "Romance Nº 1" ,  performed by Carlos Marín Trigo:

Stephan Beneking - Seven Reveries for Charlotta. Number 1 in C minor.

    My personal opinion:

Beneking is often inspired by classical composers (such as Beethoven, Chopin or Satie) to compose many of his works.

It is very striking that in his musical production there is a large number of nocturnes and, although in this case it is a reverie, the slow movement, as well as the bass (left hand) consisting of a binary rhythm, with a note in the first beat and a chord in the second of each bar, suggests a nocturne.

As in most of his works, there is no indication of tempo or dynamics, which is left to the free will and good taste of the performer.

    About the composer:
