Hudson Gimenez - Romance Nº 1

My review:       Romance Nº 1   is a piece in three sections, with an accompanied melody texture and a tranquil tempo, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection. The thematic unity and the constant accompaniment of arpeggios give the piece a sense of cohesion, with a second development section and a third recapitulation section. In fact, it is constructed from a harmonic progression (accompaniment) upon which small variations on the main theme melody are layered.       Gimenez's social links:           Facebook      YouTube      SoundCloud     Enjoy  "Romance Nº 1" ,  performed by Carlos Marín Trigo:

Cats and music.

There are not a few composers who, throughout the history of music, have been inspired by animals to compose their works. Some of them, even in their pets and, specifically, in cats.
A couple of cases come to mind, specifically the famous Cat Fugue (Sonata K. 30) by Domenico Scarlatti and the famous Catcerto by Mindaugas Piečaitis.
In the case of Scarlatti, he never gave his Sonata the aforementioned nickname, but rather, in the 19th century, the curious legend began to spread that, taking into account the unusual motif with which said sonata begins (the first three bars ), it was because his cat had walked over the keyboard and Scarlatti wrote down the notes that said animal had played, composing the rest of the work from there. Real or not, so far it is still a legend that has not been proven and has remained mere speculation.
In the second case, it would suffice to see the video posted on a famous video platform to realize how the famous Catcerto was composed: the composer took several clips of the kitten Nora playing a few notes on the piano; having enough samples, he copied and pasted them to make a montage and, from there, he composed the orchestral part and the result is more than evident. It really is a good proposal that causes the amusement of many and the curiosity of many others (I include myself in this group), but it does not go unnoticed. A great video, without a doubt and, from my point of view, a very emotional work.
In short, be that as it may, it seems that the cat is an animal that inspires to compose music.
And you, do you know other works that have been inspired or composed by a cat? Tell me in the comments!
